Exhibition Information

			In commemoration of the opening exhibition, the Hospital Gallery will select and display famous paintings related to medicine from January 4 to February 28 (for 55 days). I spent the last month of 2020 when people's daily activities were reduced and the entire human race was terrified by the epidemic, thinking about the history of human epidemics.

These infectious diseases, ranging from smallpox along the Silk Road to the Black Death, which wiped out a third of the European population, and the Spanish flu, which spread at the end of World War I, can be cured as medicine advances, but new diseases can occur at any time.

Painting is a product of the times. Edward Jenner, who developed the smallpox vaccine, the first vaccine for mankind, drew a picture of a caring doctor who takes care of patients by the side, and Luke Fields's Doctor, known as an anti-war painter, and a nurse who takes care of patients with devotion in this situation.

In 2020, Corona 19, which terrorized humanity, reduces daily life and hopes that Corona will be eroded with the vaccine developed in 2021 so that medical staff's hard work will not be wasted by looking at a picture of medical staff treating or caring for patients.
