The title of the exhibition, <For Love and Peace>, is a phrase written on the tent of an anti-war protest camp at Parliament Square in London, England, the last destination of the Silk Road Project. Love and peace, which are frequently found in the artist's work, reveal the common horizon that he pursued through socially participatory projects. <Jeong Jae-Chul: Love and Peace> follows the artist's attitude to the movement of boundaries as a practicing body and his thoughts on the ecology revealed in the circulating objects based on the problematic awareness of the commons. With the sense of crisis on the planet, a common land of mankind, and another phase of globalization unfolding, we are facing the emergence of new boundaries, such as hostility and hatred, and conservative politics. As Bruno Latour said, in the reality of ‘globalization-minus’ such as disappearance of solidarity and destruction of the environment, Jae-Chul Jeong’s practice and thinking will suggest the direction of what to face now that we face new boundaries and standards.
