Exhibition Information
The artist Choi Jang-won marks the seventh anniversary of HIV infection on July 19, 2021. The artist is asked, 'How did you get HIV?' When that happens, he purposely tease s people and say, 'That's because I had sex without a condom!' Rather, the question motivated him to find out the date of his HIV infection. The author invites family members, close people, disconnected people, and strangers to the exhibition. Whether they accept the invitation or not, they recognize the author's HIV infection simply by receiving the invitation under the title of the exhibition. After knowing it, they have to decide whether to visit during the exhibition. (or decide not to answer) and the artist asks those who receive the invitation to tell him what decision he made. "Coming out is not a way to solve something, but an opportunity to start the process of solving it. When I left the room I was alone, I encountered a living room with other people, not outside.“ Choi Jangwon He expresses the world as a person who is infected with sexual minorities and HIV in Korea. Various stories that appear when he actively reveal himself as a minority to people that he is close to, people he doesn't know, are expressed using media such as video, etc.He also pays attention to the various reactions that occur when they are provided to the audience.
