The Structure of Thoughts The works by Park Jin Kyu is equivalent of architecture built on earth. The artist structures three-dimensional space onto the two-dimensional canvas made of systematically intertwined threads. He builds up nothing but acrylic paints with his creative tool which operates like the syringe, in which he tugs the canvas as he paints with his painting equipment. Dichotomy would be said to call his artistic conception. The act of drawing a line symbolises the dichotomy between thoughts. The line divides right and left in the physical sense, while positive and negative in the mental, existence and non-existence in the state, part and the whole, normal and abnormal, original and copy, and so forth. Yet this is a notion from the artist’s subjective experiences: the artist wishes his works to be perceived open-ended.
